For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Answered Prayer At The Park: FMTracts Kickoff Picnic

What a night.

Last night we had our FMTracts kickoff picnic. When we planned it on Monday, the forecast showed a 71% chance of rain. We saw that and did the only thing that really makes sense for a ministry built on faith in Jesus: we prayed for good weather.

Watching The Forecast Change

Yesterday, the forecast showed rain from 8–10 a.m. But that rain never came. Instead, it was windy, cloudy, and hot. Not ideal, but not a washout either.

We arrived at the park to set up, started unloading, and then the rain finally showed up. So we stopped and prayed again, right there in the middle of setup, asking God for good weather.

A bit later, the rain stopped.

Around 6 p.m., we watched the clouds begin to clear. The wind died down. The temperature cooled off. The sun came out. Suddenly it was perfect weather. No wind, not super hot, just a beautiful evening in the park.

To us, it was a clear reminder that prayer is not just a routine we go through. God hears. God responds. He is not a vending machine, but He is a Father who listens.

A Picnic Turned Into Praise

Because the weather opened up, we were able to have the picnic we had hoped for.

People came. We shared a meal together. A friend brought his guitar and led worship. There we were, praising the Lord in a public park, singing to Jesus where anyone could hear. It was simple and real, and it felt like exactly where we were supposed to be.

After worship, we shared a ministry update. We talked about what God did last season, what He has been teaching us, and where we believe He is leading us this year with FMTracts.

Covering The Season In Prayer

Then we opened it up to prayer.

We prayed for the season ahead.
We prayed over the tracts we will hand out.
We prayed for the people we will meet.
We prayed for divine appointments, the kind you cannot plan or script.
We prayed for lives to be changed, for people to be set free.
We prayed for current volunteers and for the ones who have not joined us yet but will.

We believe God is doing a work in the Fargo–Moorhead area, and we are here to be a part of it. Not the whole story, not the only ones working, but a willing team saying, “Here we are, Lord. Use us.”

After prayer, we stuck around and fellowshipped over s’mores. Simple, sweet, and a perfect way to end the night. It really was a great kickoff to the season.

Join Us In Prayer And In Person

We would love for you to join us in praying for this season:

  • Pray for good weather and open doors on outreach nights.
  • Pray for soft hearts and bold faith.
  • Pray for clear Gospel conversations and real follow up, not just moments.

If you feel even a small tug to learn more or to come out with us for an outreach, reach out. Drop us a DM, leave a comment, or connect with us. You do not need to have it all together or be a “professional evangelist.” Just be willing to take hold of the Gospel and step out with us.

A Special Prayer Request

We also want to ask for prayer for one of our board members and his family. Their son had surgery and they have hit some roadblocks in being able to discharge and bring him home.

Please pray:

  • For health and full healing for their son.
  • For wisdom and favor with the medical team.
  • For peace, strength, and comfort for the parents and family during this time.

We are excited for what God is going to do this season. Last night was a reminder that He answers prayer, He goes before us, and He is at work long before we show up at the park or on the streets.
