For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

A New Day Downtown

This morning, our Executive Director had the chance to head downtown with students from Park Christian. Every semester, their 10th graders take a class focused on evangelism. They are not just learning ideas. They are stepping into real conversations about Jesus.

Last week, FMTracts was invited to share about what we do and how to use Gospel tracts in everyday conversations. Then today, we got to come alongside them as they actually went out to share.

And they really went for it.

Students spread out across downtown in groups. Some were excited. Some were clearly nervous. You could see it on their faces at first. But something shifted once they started.

They took hold.

I met a man named Alex. He had been in an accident and is now unable to work because of his injuries. He told us he had an interview coming up and asked if we would pray for him. Right there on the street, with a few students gathered around, we prayed.

Simple. Real. Faith in action.

Another group of students approached people with a short survey, using it as a way to open up deeper conversations. Some people walked away. Some said no. We watched rejection happen in real time.

But here is what stood out.

They did not shut down.

They did not retreat.

They kept going.

One group ended up in a 15 minute conversation with a man. They clearly shared the Gospel with him. They prayed with him. They gave him a Bible. That is not theory. That is obedience.

The Gospel is simple, but it is not casual.

God is holy. We are not. Our sin separates us from Him. But Jesus stepped in. He lived the life we could not live, died in our place, and rose again. Because of that, forgiveness is real and available. Not earned. Given by grace.

But it does require a response.

Repent. Believe. Take hold of Christ.

What we saw today was not perfection. It was faith. Students choosing to speak, even when it felt uncomfortable. Choosing to stay, even when people walked away. Choosing to trust that God is at work, even when they could not see the outcome.

That is what it looks like to take hold. More than a moment.

If you have ever thought about sharing your faith but held back, today is a reminder. You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to go.

We would love for you to be part of this.
