For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Wind, Pocket Bibles, And Open Doors

Tonight we kicked off our weekly street outreaches for the season, and it started with a huge blessing. This year’s Bible sponsor, Illuminate the Truth, provided 100 pocket Bibles for us to use during outreach. We picked them up from their Christian bookstore in downtown Fargo, which is a much-needed ministry in our city. They also host events and classes to help people grow in their faith. If you have not checked them out yet, we really encourage you to stop by and support them.

With fresh Bibles in hand, we headed out into the night.

A Windy Night On The Streets

It was windy. Really windy. The kind of night that makes you think about staying home. But our team still went downtown with one goal: reach the lost with Gospel tracts, Bibles, and real conversations.

This was also the first night we officially commissioned our mobile kit. It is stocked with tracts, Bibles, water, and some food for anyone who is hungry or thirsty. Simple tools, but they open doors to talk about Jesus.

Downtown was still pretty active, even with the wind, and God gave us plenty of opportunities to connect with people.

A New Guy In Town, Looking For A Church

One of the first highlights of the night was meeting a guy who had just moved to town and was looking for a church. He shared what he was hoping to find and what he wanted in a church family.

We told him about Heartland Community Church and Harvest Valley Church, and we shared what we love about both. He seemed genuinely interested and said he would look them up online and learn more.

Please pray that he actually takes that step of faith. Pray that he does not just think about church, but starts going again, gets connected, and grows in Christ.

When They Say “No”

Not everyone we meet is ready to receive the message. Tonight we met two guys who took a tract at first, but once they realized what it was about, they tried to hand it back and turn it down.

One of our team members really sensed the Holy Spirit leading him not to let that moment just slip away. So he gently leaned in a little more than usual. He told them that their lives matter, and that this message is important, not just another piece of paper.

The conversation stayed pleasant and respectful. No arguing, just honesty. Please pray for these two men, that God keeps working on their hearts. Pray that we might run into them again and have another chance to reach out and share more of the hope we have in Jesus.

Food, Water, And The Gospel

Because of the mobile kit, we were able to meet physical needs too. We met a few people who needed food and water, and we were able to give them both.

But we did not stop there. Those simple acts opened the door to Gospel conversations. It is a reminder that people have real needs in both their bodies and their souls, and that God cares about both.

A Scary Moment On The Street

In the middle of everything, we witnessed something heavy. A man fell face first into the curb right in front of us. It was sudden and hard to watch.

At that exact moment, a fire truck happened to be driving by. People nearby flagged them down, and the crew stopped immediately. An ambulance came and checked him out.

Please pray for this man, for recovery, and that God would use even this painful moment to draw him closer to Himself.

New Connections And Follow Up

Even with the wind, God was clearly at work. One gentleman we talked with wanted to connect, so he gave us his phone number. We will reach out to him and follow up.

Pray that he answers when we call. Pray that he is open to meeting, hearing the Gospel more clearly, and taking hold of Christ, not just having one interesting conversation and moving on.

Come Take Hold With Us

If you are interested in joining our ministry, just want to check it out, or want more information, we would love to hear from you.

At FMTracts, we believe God is using simple tools like tracts, Bibles, water, and honest conversations to reach people in the Fargo–Moorhead area. You do not need a certain skill level or years of experience. You just need a willing heart, a love for Jesus, and a desire to see others come to know Him.

Reach out to us, send a message, or ask about coming along one night. We would love to meet you and share how God is moving and how you could be a part of it.
